ABSTRACT

Over the years, computer applications have increased at an alarming rate, ranging from those for personal use to those controlling various types of sophisticated systems. As computer failures can, directly or indirectly, affect our day-to-day life, their reliability has become an important issue to the population at large. Furthermore, the reliability of computer systems used in areas such as nuclear power generation, aerospace, and defense is of utmost importance because their failures could be very costly and catastrophic.
