ABSTRACT
Health, safety and environment (HSE) are of major concern in any industry. However, the history of the oil and gas industry, in addition to the inherent difficulties and dangers in exploration and production (E & P) activities, make it much more susceptible to questions raised by different affected parties like local authorities and environmentalists. The HSE component has now become an integral part in the management of oil and gas companies. From the beginning of the E & P activities, there had been many incidents and accidents which had severe impact to the environment, ecology and humans and which drew the attention of the whole world community.
