ABSTRACT

In order to understand the issue of climate change and be able to work with others in finding a solution to the problem, it is important to know where others stand on the issue. Understanding others’ perceptions and opinions is important in order to have clear, concise, meaningful communication. Without that productive negotiations are not possible. This chapter begins by looking at worldwide public perception of the issue and what people think in general, from an ideological standpoint, demographically, how they view responsibility and mitigation, and where they place climate change amid other world threats in terms of importance.
