ABSTRACT
Groundwater is in continuous movement from a recharge to a discharge area in accordance with laws governing water flow in lithosphere. The laws give the rate of energy loss against resistance from the flow medium. The conservation of energy principle helps calculation of losses. On the other hand, because of water recharge and discharge from the aquifer, the volume of groundwater in motion changes temporally and spatially according to the principle of mass conservation.
