ABSTRACT
Chapter 3 encompasses the conversion processes that apply thermal conversion principles to converted crude oil fractions into added-value streams. Described are the main thermal conversion processes, their relevance in a crude oil refining scheme, the main objective of each technology, and the main operating variables. Also described are the main technology licensors of each technology and the limitations of the thermal processes.
