ABSTRACT
By definition, treatment marshes do not treat source waters that are heavily contaminated with organic compounds. Yet, an amazing array of trace organics exists in the various source waters that are in the realm of treatment marshes. Virtually all trace organics do not occur in nature, and possess no biogeochemical cycle. They are strictly the result of human chemical production.
