ABSTRACT
25The emergence of sensor technology has enhanced the standard of living for mankind, and manifestations of this fact are found in numerous applications, such as robotics [1], vehicles [2], battlefield monitoring [3–5], ubiquitous monitoring [6,7], and target tracking [8–10]. In its early days, sensor nodes were mostly supported by wired communication channels. However, with the advancement of sensor technology, wireless sensors emerged and gained popularity over their wired counterpart because of their portability and easy installation.
