ABSTRACT
One of the most enduring and frequently told stories in Greek mythology is that of Daedalus and Icarus. According to the legend, having fashioned for the King of Crete a labyrinth from which escape was impossible without very specific knowledge, Daedalus fell afoul of his sponsor, perhaps as much as anything else because as the builder of the labyrinth, Daedalus knew how to escape it.
