ABSTRACT
The previous book in The Physical World series was concerned with kinematics –the description of motion. Quantities such as position, displacement, velocity and acceleration were defined and relations between them established for several types of motion, including uniform linear motion, projectile motion, uniform circular motion, simple harmonic motion and orbital motion. However, the causes of these particular types of motion were not discussed.
