ABSTRACT
Indians have lived in the area that is now Arizona for a very long time, at least 15,000 years, whereas whites have been there only a very short time. The early Indians left very little trace of their civilization, and because they had only a slight impact upon the environment they are not a part of the heritage of most Arizonans. Yet the Indians did occupy the area for a long time and, therefore, should be studied in some detail.
