ABSTRACT

Pregnancy is a complex developmental process that involves significant physiological and psychological changes for each woman. During this period, women experience changes in all aspects of their lives, ranging from bodily changes and emotional experiences to preparation for a new role in life: the role of motherhood. This meaningful role represents the end of her existence in the world as an independent, separate person and her transition into a new existential experience, one that is irreversible, within a new structure of mother–child.
