ABSTRACT

Chapter 14 Platform Architecture The netcentric platform architecture provides a way to identify and select the major technology platform components of a netcentric system. The platform architecture creates the foundation on which the execution archi tecture, development architecture, operations architecture, and — most important — the business application are implemented and deployed. This chapter will focus on explaining the potential types of platform roles in a netcentric environment, and the common selection criteria by which to choose a specific platform. Because of the speed of change in this field, spe cific vendors and technologies are not discussed.
