ABSTRACT
While the history of the pioneering days of the rubber industry can be traced to the early 1800s, extrusion as a process that bears comparison with our current understanding did not appear on the scene until the first forcer (extruder) was manufactured, around 1880. Very little process information is available prior to this date.
