ABSTRACT
Linkage analysis among a number of loci, linkage grouping, gene ordering and multi-locus model building are some of the key steps for analyzing discrete genetic markers. When the number of loci is large, every step of the analysis is computationally intensive. This is especially true for gene ordering and multilocus model building (see Chapters 9 and 10). Specialized computer software packages are needed to implement the analyses.
