ABSTRACT
In this chapter, some problems related to QTL mapping will be reviewed and some future directions for QTL mapping will be discussed, for example, the multiple-test problem, high level QTL interaction and problems with the traditional definitions of genetic effects (additive, dominance and epistatic interactions). QTL resolution problems will also be discussed. Most importantly, issues related to what QTLs are will be discussed.
