ABSTRACT
Biopsy is a routine practice in dermatologic surgery. Punches are commonly used for this. This is fine when one wishes to do an incisional biopsy only. But, when one plans an excision biopsy, which is a very common practice, using a punch first for biopsy and doing the excision later with radiofrequency surgery is very cumbersome. Radiofrequency surgery has proven to be a very useful and reliable method for doing an incisional and excisional biopsy due to its very thin cut. This experience is shared vividly here with the help of a variety of photomicrographs that help to establish diagnosis for macular, papular, plaque type, nodular, vesicular, and vascular lesions with remarkable success.
