ABSTRACT

When you think of storytelling you will probably, like me, remember story-time from your childhood. I encountered it both pre-school, when I sat rapt listening to the radio, and then through my school years. The narrators took me to imaginary places where I learned some of the values that society expected of me. For example, Aesop’s fables and the Brer Rabbit stories illustrated how greed and a quick fix would not ultimately be beneficial to me as a person.
