ABSTRACT
India, Bharath in Indian languages, has a rich cultural heritage. The country was invaded and ruled by different colonizers and the British rule lasted for nearly 300 years. So, when India became an independent democracy in 1947, it had become the home of various religious and linguistic groups. Although 78% of its people adopt the Hindu way of life, others follow Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Jainism, and Sikhism. Most of the 28 states in India are formed on the basis of language. With an area of 3.3 million square kilometers, India has a population of 1 billion.
