ABSTRACT

Sweden has a relatively small population of around 10 million spread over a relatively large area of 450,000 km2, which makes it the fifth largest country in Europe in terms of surface area. The country is highly urbanized, with 85% of the population living in densely populated areas. Living standards are high, the population is well educated and infrastructure is well developed. Though Sweden is a monarchy by constitution, its political system is a parliamentary democracy. Sweden is a member of the European Union.
