ABSTRACT
France is a country located in the European Union, home to 66.6 million inhabitants as of January 2014 (INSEE, 2014). France is a capitalist country operating with strong state intervention, high income levels per capita GDP (CIA, 2014) and a ranking of 20 out of 187 on the UN Human Development Index (UNDP, 2013). France’s capital is Paris and the official language is French. French territory of 675,000 km2 comprises the mainland of 552,000 km2 and numerous islands located across all the continents except Antarctica.
