ABSTRACT

Norfolk Island is located in the Pacific Ocean and lies between Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia. It is approximately 1,670 km east-northeast of Sydney and has a total area of 35 km2. The island includes two small uninhabited islands – Nepean and Phillip. Norfolk Island is well known for its rich history. It was “discovered” in 1774 by a British explorer, navigator and cartographer, Captain James Cook.
