ABSTRACT

Sharon felt she had just one more barrier to overcome before she started developing her plan: leadership. Although as the HR Director, she didn’t have a problem with getting things moving, she felt she needed a stronger endorsement from her CEO, George, for a more comprehensive approach to corporate responsibility. She didn’t want to push too far too early, but at the same time, it didn’t make sense for her to start a rollercoaster unless she knew that her boss was not only supportive, but also prepared to lead. At their next meeting, she broached the subject.
