ABSTRACT

This four-phase project, based at the Kings Heath Child Advisory and Psychological Service, Birmingham, was carried out over a period of more than two years during which time 46 children and their families participated. The first two phases of the project were located in a secondary school, the last two in a primary school. As the project progressed, a number of modifications were made because the authors wished either to generate new hypotheses or to respond to the needs of a new situation.
