ABSTRACT
Technical subjects, such as those involved in teaching landscape construction are often seen as lacking the glamour of traditional studio teaching which tends to focus more explicitly on the creative aspects of landscape architecture. Creativity, however, should no less be a characteristic of construction than it should of design, something which the two chapters in this section underline, both of them stressing the need to take an holistic approach to problem solving in which technology is the means and not the end.
