ABSTRACT
“Discourse is the primary terrain of the constitution of objectivity as such” (Laclau, 2005, p. 68). In one brief sentence, Ernesto Laclau acknowledged the obvious: he was moving from the domain of political philosophy to rhetoric. This shift to rhetoric was an instrumental move to acquire of a new set of tools for use in the theorization of hegemony that has always been his project.
