ABSTRACT
A handbook on ‘Language and Science’ immediately invites at least three questions: first, why bring two subjects together that are commonly assumed to be separate, if not opposed to each other? Second, given the enormity of both subjects, which intersections will be featured, and which left out? And third, whose language(s) are we talking about exactly, and whose science(s)?
