ABSTRACT

Between the months of February and July of 2004, Sanguineti granted a series of interviews to Antonio Gnoli, editor of the Arts and Culture section of La Repubblica. Their conversations were subsequently published by Gnoli in a volume peculiarly entitled Sanguineti’s Song. I read the book only after Sanguineti’s passing, in the days when I was trying to work out my own personal grief at his death, which occurred too close in time, for me, to that of my own parents.
