ABSTRACT
Although trained to apply knowledge and skills in several environments, finding a counseling position that matches an individual’s professional identity takes intentional focus and persistence. The following chapter presents concepts concerning the transition from graduate student to counseling professional using career development theory. In each section, the chapter provides information concerning developing resources for preparing for and executing the job search and practical steps in preparing the documents for applications and interviewing.
