ABSTRACT
The previous chapters have dealt with some of the facets of Brazilian agriculture, emphasizing the fast growth of agricultural production and agricultural productivity, the role played by the reorientation of public policies following the macroeconomic stabilization in the 1990s and, in particular, by the emergence of China as a net food importer. Notwithstanding the changes, the historical structural heterogeneity of Brazilian agriculture has remained.
