ABSTRACT

This chapter builds upon and adds to the previously described individual strategies for implicit bias remediation and reduction in school by providing systemic interventions and approaches. The first portion of the chapter extends decision-making supports, intergroup contact, mindfulness, and counter-stereotypic exemplars to use at a school-wide level. Subsequent interventions are introduced inclusive of data-based strategies, discipline systems, professional development, policy reforms, and relationship building. The combination of the strategies detailed in this section will provide readers with an extensive toolkit for school leadership that promotes implicit bias-free decision-making in schools.
