ABSTRACT
Below is a portion of a conversation between Joyce E. King ( JEK) and Linda Campbell (LC) in the early stages of Ms. Campbell’s research. As she describes what is happening to her, we can observe her shift from a teacher with “great management skills” valued by administrators to a teacher who has come to see that eff ective teaching depends upon building relationships with students and parents.
