ABSTRACT

As Nevzat Soguk (2007: 283) poetically put it, “Borders have lives of their own. They move, shift, metamorphose, edge, retract, emerge tall and powerful or retreat into the shadows exhausted, or even grow irrelevant.” I explore the life of the inter-Korean border and how it is brought to life in the South Korean comics Oh! Hangang by Hur Youngman.
