ABSTRACT

Women have the right to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health. The enjoyment of this right is vital to their life and wellbeing and their ability to participate in all areas of public and private life. Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease or infi rmity. Women’s health involves their emotional, social and physical wellbeing and is determined by the social, political and economic context of their lives, as well as biology.
