ABSTRACT
SUMMARY. Through the use of an innovative curriculum and teleconference technology, the Children's Bureau of South Carolina has joined forces with South Carolina Educational Television to make adoption preparation classes readily accessible to clients throughout the state. Teleconferencing originates from a centrally located studio and participants attend at designated technical education sites throughout the state. The curriculum is consistent with the higher education model of obtaining basic or core education before progressing to specialized training. This article describes the curriculum and the use of closed circuit interactive teleconferencing for individuals and couples who are attending classes pertaining to core information basic to all adoptions.
