ABSTRACT
By the time Darío wrote this text, modernismo was already a dynamic movement that included writers from all over Latin America. The rupture of traditional poetic form, breaking it free from the iron molds of the past, would provide the space for a poetry in which the young blood of this corps of authors could breathe new life into antiquated forms and break new ground.
