ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the learning as used qualitative research techniques to analyze the learning after completing a graduate course in Language, Literacy, and Culture (LLC). Mary is a university professor whose research and teaching focus on helping literacy teachers explore their own beliefs about culture, language, and diversity and develop culturally relevant pedagogies to address the needs of all learners. Language, Literacy, and Culture (LLC) was the first course in author master's program. The class that helped to bridge the realization was one that also bridged author Advanced Certificate in Teaching and Leading in Diversity (ACTLD) and Master's Literacy coursework: Language, Literacy, and Culture (LLC). This chapter references five questions that Cope and Kalantzis had introduced in their article about multiliteracies. Multiliteracies focused on cultural and social practices and patterns in a globally connected world.
