ABSTRACT

The Red Army Faction (RAF) was a German terrorist movement that officially came into being on 14 May 1970. During its existence, the group caused the death of 59 people, including 25 of its own members. The financial damage exceeded 500 million Deutschmark (DM), including 7 million DM that were taken during various bank robberies perpetrated by the group (Moghadam, 2012) in order to finance itself.
