ABSTRACT
This chapter looks at the way in which the potential health effects of planning can be examined at policy, plan, programme and project level. The focus is on Health Impact Assessment (HIA); however environmental assessment plays an important role in planning and as such the ways health can be addressed through environmental assessment are also discussed.
