ABSTRACT
As mobility and transport use continue to grow, so do the negative environmental impacts associated with increased transport use. There are a range of solutions available to reduce or mitigate these impacts, and governments have a strategic role to play in encouraging individuals and businesses to adopt these. However, the goal of reducing the environmental impacts of transport is set within a much larger system linking transport to wider economic, social and political factors.
