ABSTRACT
Readers may find it odd for a chapter on the future of ELF to start by looking back at its past. But as we draw to the end of this lengthy first-ever ELF handbook, it seems to me that before we turn to the hypothetical future of ELF, it is important to pause and take stock of when and where it all started, and to consider what has been accomplished in the astonishingly short time since then.
