ABSTRACT

This chapter reflects on the ethical decisions made by a number of researchers working in superdiverse contexts. Focusing on ‘ethically important moments’ (Guillemin and Gillam, 2004) in researching communication, it explores the ethical issues at play and how researchers resolved ethical dilemmas. From the discussion, the chapter will suggest a number of ways in which social scientists can both influence institutional ethical approval processes and address local ethical issues in superdiverse settings.
