ABSTRACT
Religion is ‘sticky’. There is probably no ‘pure’ religion that is not bound up with other aspects of human life such as politics or economics. Religion is not merely a matter of pure spiritual contemplation with no implications for how human beings organize their lives, both individually and collectively. Religion sticks to politics, work, consumerism, class – and to gender, sexuality, and the family.
