ABSTRACT
It is important to gain a better understanding of school leadership in Asia, a continent that is home to over 60% of the world’s population and is as diverse as it is vast. Included amongst the 49 countries that Asia comprises are the world’s two most populous nations, China and India; two of the world’s three largest economies, Japan and China; and many of the world’s most dynamic, and some of its poorest, economies. The continent embraces such an array of political, historical, religious, cultural, linguistic, geographic and economic faces that it precludes all but the roughest classifications.
