ABSTRACT
The study of the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) brings together a range of lenses from sister disciplines – for example, international relations, comparative politics, area studies and foreign policy analysis. This is because the ENP, both as it was conceived in its original format and in its subsequent revision, is a policy that involves moving targets. It is a complex range of policies that involve tailor-made objectives, strategies and areas of impact. Precisely because of its complexity, the study of the ENP becomes a challenging venture as it is evident by the mapping attempt of this handbook, exploring issues related to EU foreign policy-making and implementation of the policy towards the EU’s southern and eastern neighbourhoods.
