ABSTRACT
This concluding chapter assesses the contributions of the chapters to the five main themes of this Handbook, namely, (i) theories of IT innovations in government, (ii) emerging technologies and their applications in government, (iii) technology-driven collaboration between citizens and government, (iv) advancement of democratic accountability and public values through technology, and (v) advancement of public service through technological innovations. Following this assessment, the chapter provides concluding thoughts and recommendations on the opportunities and future of information technology innovations in government.
