ABSTRACT

Sarah Donovan has been working with colleagues and students from Wagner College on community-based projects in the Port Richmond community of Staten Island, New York. Her projects have involved interdisciplinary collaboration and are integral to undergraduate student course work and community-based learning. They are also a part of her research agenda. In this interview, she explains how and why we can/should engage in these practices of philosophy of the city. Importantly, her work in collaboration with Mexican communities in Port Richmond, Staten Island, and Mexico explores and responds to the globalization of the city.
