ABSTRACT
This chapter considers how the Black Lives Matter phenomenon, and how it has been manifested in the Movement for Black Lives, represents an important way of responding philosophically to the forces of urban relegation. Philosophically rich in terms of content and methods, the activism of the movement is therefore a distinctly philosophical form of intervention and response to the forces marginalizing, fragmenting, and oppressing urban African-American communities.
