ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the current state of both communication and culture in the Arabic language classroom. In particular, it talks about the need for all teachers to carefully plan the integration of culture and intercultural communication (IC) into the curriculum. It addresses the need for alignment between language and culture with regard to what is appropriate at each level of learning. Although it will focus on adult learners in higher education, it should prove useful for K-12 learners as well.
