ABSTRACT

This section presents a variety of programmes and practices that have sought to enhance physical activity provision for different population groups. More specifically, this section explores the issues and challenges in attempting to develop positive outcomes from interventions, judged by both formal evaluations and more personal and political unintended outcomes. All of the programmes and practices face a number of challenges to be successful. Further, readers will come to appreciate that many of these settings require diligent evaluation and critical reflection on the part of those intervening, and not simply evangelical promotion of physical activity.
