ABSTRACT

The question was posed, with some amazement, by a shop steward from a large Danish iron works during a training workshop. The question was aimed at a man who had just told him that he had been out of regular employment for twelve years. The reply to the shop steward from the unemployed man was prompt: “What are you going to do when it happens to you?” After some tension and some talk, it was agreed that the participants from the workshop were to meet again at a new workshop where the two men would try to answer both questions.
